Considered a very rejuvenating procedure for the breast, the breast lift seeks to correct aging changes of the breast that include sagging, enlarged areola, and downward turn of the nipple. This operation recreates a youthful breast shape that is higher on the chest with a natural slope. Once the breasts have sagged, breast lift surgery is the only true option to correct this issue.
Our approach
Your consultation with Dr. Bensimon will address the look you would like to achieve and the different approaches available to obtain your objectives. The incisions are made around the areola (darker area of skin around nipple) and down the middle of the breast from the areola to the fold underneath the breast. We make every effort to use the smallest incisions possible, and try to minimize scarring. On occasion, an additional incision is required along the fold of the breast, more commonly in women with very large cup size.
What we do differently
Shaping and contouring the breasts are an important part of this procedure. No uncomfortable bindings or bras are required after the surgery. These devices are ineffective, as the surgical approach and technique used are the most important aspect of your care.
Careful attention and time is taken when closing the incisions in surgery to achieve the most minimal scarring. This is a very important part of the surgery and cannot be hurried. We encourage our patients to wear a special, discreet skin colored tape after surgery. It is comfortable and aids with wound healing, while making the incisions almost invisible.
A rapid recovery
Most patients resume normal activity within a few days and report mild discomfort. This procedure can often be performed at the end of the week allowing many patients to return to work on Monday.
