In some areas of the country, there is an alarming trend of non-plastic surgeons such as gynecologists performing these procedures. That is not the case at Pearl Women’s Center. Our plastic surgery division is headed by Dr. Richard H. Bensimon, a board certified plastic surgeon with over 20 years experience in plastic and reconstructive surgery.
Certification by The American Board of Plastic Surgery means your surgeon has completed at least five years of additional training after medical school as a resident surgeon in a surgical program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Medical Education. This includes a minimum of five years training in all areas of surgery, including at least two years focused solely on plastic surgery. To become certified, the doctor then must pass comprehensive written and oral exams.
