FROM THE EVERYDAY GYNECOLOGICAL CONCERN TO THE MOST

COMPLEX ISSUE, PEARL WOMEN'S CENTER IS A LEADING RESOURCE FOR WOMEN'S HEALTH

Gynecology is a highly specialized field of medicine focusing on the unique health concerns of women. Pearl Women’s Center’s board certified gynecologists are nationally recognized experts in this constantly evolving field.

Our practice routinely deals with:

Annual exams. The annual exam represents our first line of defense in identifying potential problems in the earliest stages. (more)

Contraception. Choosing the best birth control method for your lifestyle can be a daunting task. We will help you evaluate the best choice for you needs. (more)

Infections. Many infections can affect the genitals and pelvis. Most are easily treated if diagnosed early. (more)

Menopause. The permanent end of menstruation, a natural part of a woman’s lifecycle, can trigger physical and emotional symptoms that can be difficult to cope with. Fortunately, many effective treatments are available. Pearl Women’s Center’s Dr. Russell Dow has helped thousands of women transition into menopause. Dr. Dow is one of only a handful of certified experts in Menopause Management in Oregon, having completed special training with the North American Menopause Society (NAMS). (more)

Menstrual Irregularities. Abnormal uterine bleeding can be caused by a wide variety of issues. Some are easily treated while others are more serious. All should be evaluated and properly diagnosed. (more)

Pelvic Pain. The cause of pelvic pain is often misdiagnosed. Pearl Women’s Center practitioners are experts in diagnosing the often elusive cause of this debilitating condition. We emphasize the importance of a thorough evaluation which includes a comprehensive history and physical exam, possible laboratory studies and, often times, imaging. Treatment for pelvic pain must be individualized to the patient’s unique circumstance and may include medication, therapeutic options, alternative therapies or surgical intervention. (more)

Sexually transmitted disease (STD). More than half of all sexually active adults will contract an STD at some point in their lives. Most are easily treated. Because many STD’s have no symptoms, we recommend routine testing at your annual exam if you have had unprotected sex or feel you are at risk. If you think you may have an STD, you should not wait to be tested. Please call the office for an appointment.
